EDUCATION:
Ortiz graduated with his J.D. in 1988, with honors, from the University of Wyoming School of Law. he earned his B.A. from the University of Wyoming in 1985.
LEGAL PRACTICE:
Mr. Ortiz has been a shareholder in the firm of Williams, Porter, Day, & Neville, PC since 1992. He has a trial practice specializing in professional liability claims, defense of transportation carriers, oil and gas related litigation, and labor and employment law with large energy-related employers. He has tried in excess of fifty-five (55) jury trials and more than one hundred fifty (150) arbitrations and contested case hearings.
ON THE SIDE:
Mr. Ortiz is an inducted member of both the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is a member of Defense Research Institute, (DRI), USLAW, The Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association, and the Wyoming State Bar Association. He has been appointed to and currently serves on the Wyoming Judicial Ethics Commission. He enjoys snowmobiling, golf, and traveling with his wife and their children.
