EDUCATION:
Scoggin graduated with his J.D. in 1998 from the University of Wyoming School of Law. He also received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Wyoming in 1995.
LEGAL PRACTICE:
Mr. Scoggin has been a practicing attorney since 1998. He began practicing with attorney Julie Tiedeken in that same year, with their practice focusing primarily on civil litigation. In 2007, Scoggin and Tiedeken partnered with Bill and Michele McKellar to form McKellar, Tiedeken, and Scoggin, LLC, in 2007.
Scoggin’s emphasis is on trial practice, and he has been involved in more than 35 jury trials in Wyoming, and more than 100 bench trials. He has defended a wide variety of lawsuits, including personal injury and wrongful death claims, arising from motor vehicle accidents, on the job accidents, and slips & falls. He has represented both injured workers and employers in workers’ compensation cases as well.
Additionally, Scoggin has handled more than 200 divorce cases and more than 50 general domestic relations cases (child support, paternity, child custody matters, etc.).
ON THE SIDE:
Mr. Scoggin served as a Congressional Intern for U.S. Senator Alan K. Simpson in 1991. His professional memberships include: The Wyoming Bar Association, the Laramie County Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association. He has also served as an arbitrator both individually and on an arbitration panel.
