WPDN is proud to announce that Scott Ortiz has been appointed as the Chair of the Wyoming State Committee for the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) for the 2019-2020 term.
This honor comes after a number of years in which Scott has served as a member of the ACTL. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), the Defense Research Institute (DRI), USLAW, The Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association, and the Wyoming Bar Association.
Mr. Ortiz will begin his duties as Chairman at the Committee’s annual meeting, taking place in Vancouver, Canada this year. He will continue to serve until the 2020 annual meeting. Additionally, Ortiz will attend this year’s Leadership Workshop at the Resort on Squaw Creek, in Lake Tahoe, California.
This is an incredible honor and serves to prove just how dedicated Mr. Ortiz has been in his professional and personal life. He has devoted much of his life to his career and, in doing so, has tried more than fifty-five jury trials and more than one hundred and fifty arbitrations and contested case hearings. Ortiz specializes in professional liability claims, defense of transportation carriers, oil and gas-related litigation, and labor and employment law with large energy-related employers.
Mr. Ortiz has gladly accepted this position with the American College of Trial Lawyers, and WPDN trusts that he will bring the same character, integrity, and passion to that position as he has continually demonstrated at WPDN.
